Olivia Rodrigo, Jake Gyllenhaal, Andrew Huberman and a $495k dinner in space
These are the best things I found on the internet this week!
What’s up everyone,
Sorry for no movie newsletter last Friday. I was in the middle of a 14-hour March Madness bender on Thursday and lost track of time (how are your all’s brackets looking? Mine is awful). Besides, movies are taking a back seat right now to the annual TV SZN. If you’re not watching “Shogun” or “The Gentlemen,” you’re missing out. We’ll do a combo new movie and new show rundown this Friday, I promise.
In the meantime, here’s another edition of my weekly “conversation starters,” a wrap-up of the best, most interesting and most entertaining content on the internet. Enjoy!

I made a national TV appearance on the TODAY Show! But my 15 minute interview got cut down to about … two seconds of air time. Guess that’s show biz baby. I also went on Forbes Talks last week to discuss March Madness, but please don’t go back and look who I predicted to be this year’s Cinderella. Some awful betting advice.
Andrew Huberman is not just the world’s most famous neuroscientist, he’s basically the prophet of biological optimization. Our Long Read of the Week (and fair warning, it’s very long) is a deep dive profile of the man behind the legend, and his complicated web of simultaneous romantic partners.
Personal Passions Corner: Olivia Rodrigo’s new music video “obsessed” is awesome.
For decades, being a babysitter was a rite of passage. Now, The Atlantic says teenage babysitting a relic of bygone era. The article makes a great point about American culture in general — teenagers don’t seem nearly as grown up today as they used to be.
One of the first space tourism companies hired a two-Michellin star chef to create what is clearly history’s most expensive meal — $495,000 each. Although you know what they say … location, location location.
A northern California man was incorrectly marked deceased by Social Security. Now months later he’s still finding it difficult to prove to the authorities he’s still alive.
After years of slim pant dominance, the New York Times declares that baggy pants have made a comeback. Why? I take it as another signal that irony has won the culture wars. The uglier, the stupider, the better.
The new Road House movie is hot garbage (we’ll discuss further on Friday) but Jake Gyllenhaal’s workout to get ripped for the movie is incredibly impressive.
Thanks for reading and sharing! We’ve got so much to talk about Friday — Roaad House, Immaculate, Love Lies Bleeding, and tons of TV shows.
